With long roots on the western slope of Colorado – Kevin Gibson’s family arrived in Colorado in 1933. He grew up in Grand Junction and Meeker, and began his accounting career in 1998 after graduating summa cum laude from Adams State University. 

Kevin has spent his career providing tax and advisory services to small and medium-sized privately held businesses. With expertise in general business taxation for individuals, corporations, partnerships and other business entities, he has spent more than twenty six years providing tax and advisory services such as income tax preparation, tax planning and consultation, business succession planning, real estate investments and exchanges, consulting to medical practices and professional services firms, aviation and fixed base operators, and a broad range of other clients in western Colorado, across the state, and nationally. He also has extensive knowledge of conservation easement planning, including the intricacies of the Colorado Gross Conservation Easement tax credit. He has been a long-time member of the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA) and currently serves on the COCPA Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) Working Group. In 2024, COCPA elected Kevin to their board of directors.  

Building deep and personal relationships with his clients is one of the many qualities for which Kevin is known – serving as their advocate and trusted advisor. Advisory services are the most valuable service CPAs can provide. Tax planning throughout the year is essential to minimizing the burden of taxes over the long run. Planning that synchronizes business entities, rental activities, and family group individual filings to optimize savings and achieve goals is his specialty. Kevin also recognizes that there are often overriding business and personal factors that can take priority over the best tax plan. Incorporating this holistic approach to planning and advisory services always results in the best outcome for his clients. Outside of his professional pursuits, you’ll find Kevin enjoying the wonderful outdoor lifestyle in the Roaring Fork Valley. He enjoys hiking, cycling, paddleboarding, and traveling throughout the world. Giving back to his community is important to Kevin, spending his time and knowledge to help fundraising efforts for the Valley View Hospital Foundation, Glenwood Springs Historical Society, Colorado Animal Rescue, Valley Settlement Project, and a variety of other local not-for-profit organizations.
